Many may think that the New York senator is playing ahead for her plans to run for president in 2008 but her spokeswoman Anne Lewis stated, "Donations were part of a larger effort to help Democratic candidates for governor in 2006"(concordmonitor.com). Keeping this in mind Clinton is sure to get a campaign boost in New York as well as the rest of the nation showing that she is willing to help out other democrats.
-On another note Hillary Clinton has stated she is in favor of U.S. borders secured with a wall or fence, possibly surveillance drones and infrared cameras (bradenton.com). This should help Clinton out in the senate but may damage her in the polls. Although it is brave to step out and say something about the new illegal immigrant controversy she may be soon biting her tongue.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/4/4/130308.shtml
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2504103.stm
-A recent poll has suggested Hillary Clinton's domination in the run for New York senator has significantly dropped. The poll suggests Clinton has dropped 31 points. Although this may raise flags for some she is still in a commanding lead, which shows her with 54% of the vote. In perspective Clinton has much to worry about, dropping so many points at once is unacceptable. Although the polling may suggest a strong decrease in support I believe the former first lady will undoubtedly pull through. Hillary Clinton is more than capable of being re-elected if she stays strong with her issues and keeps a strong focus on what is best for New York. Furthermore, with a strong advertising and public support the New York Senator will have exactly what is needed come Election Day.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/27/nyregion/27hillary.html
The New York Times has stated that Hillary Clinton has set 2006 as a springboard for 2008. Hillary Clinton is "supposed" to win the New York senate race by a "large margin" so is moving forth to trying to send her message across state borders. With this in mind Hillary Clinton will not only help herself get re-elected in New York but also get a head start on getting her message out to other states given she decides to run for president in 2008. The press has claimed the former first lady is too “angry”. The current senator replied that she would wear their criticism as “a badge of honor”(foxnews.com). Clinton further claimed that the reason for the claims was related to her gender. On another note, Hillary Clinton has suggested the legalization of some immigrants. Clinton stated, “For those who work hard, pay their taxes, continue to obey the law and demonstrate a commitment to this country, the opportunity to eventually earn citizenship should also be available”(nytimes.com). With this in mind, Clinton is sure to gain some sympathy and change her “angry” image into something more compassionate towards people. Clinton is sure to be gaining more and more votes. If this current streak continues she is sure to be re-elected.

http://www.tampabays10.com/news/news.aspx?http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newyork/ny-bc-ny--hillaryclinton0224feb24,0,7083836.story?coll=ny-region-apnewyork
Hillary Clinton has once again made headlines when she commented on the takeover of six major American ports (newsday.com). Clinton has complimented the Bush administration on a job well done for delaying the takeover of these ports. The former first lady is very displeased with the thought of an international business running U.S. ports. Senator Clinton wants to pass legislation to stop the takeover of these ports from happening. With this in mind, Clinton is sure to raise the appeal for her campaign as she shows concern for domestic resources. The New York senator stated, “We cannot cede sovereignty over critical infrastructure like our ports. This is a job that America has to do" (newsday.com). This headline will be a catalyst to strengthen Clinton's campaign. Recent weeks have shown slanderous and critical headlines over some of her arguments. However, her stand on U.S. ports is sure to turn some heads and bring in votes to keep her in the senate.

http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=1593056
http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-ushill094618737feb09,0,4593393.story?coll=ny-nationalnews-print

Hillary Clinton made a bold statement as she exclaimed, "Since when has it been part of American patriotism to keep our mouths shut?"(newsday.com). The "Angry Woman" as nbc states, has lashed out at the Bush campaign stating it has been playing the “fear card” in order to get re-elected. Furthermore, the New York Senator has humiliated the administration by questioning its inability to capture Bin Laden. Hillary Clinton will undoubtedly come under criticism from the media such as that of Danny Diaz who states, “"While the junior senator from New York is busy attacking our commander-in-chief, the president is focused on taking the fight to the terrorists. ... It's a pre-9/11 world view"(nesday.com). Diaz has childishly proven senator Clinton’s point as he immediately retorts with comments about terrorists and 9/11. Although, the media states Hillary Clinton is using anger to “carry” her campaign it is obvious that senator Clinton is using her first amendment right as she openly states her frustration with a campaign that has not shown sufficient results. With this in mind Clinton may have gotten herself into some trouble with voters but with no doubt will overcome.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200601230002
http://www.10nbc.com/news.asp?template=item&story_id=17498

-Senator Hillary Clinton (D) has been in office since November 7, 2000. Upon entering the senate Hillary Clinton supported areas such as; homeland security, no child left behind in education, and is currently working hard to help New York get a better health program.
-As she continues to fight against the Bush administration in an effort to “better” the health care program of New York, Hillary Clinton’s Campaign has hit a rough spot. After a comment comparing the Bush administration to a slave plantation, Clinton is destined to face political slander. Such as that of Fox News business contributor Meredith Whitney who states, “ ‘It will take more than a village to get [Sen.] Hillary [Rodham] Clinton [D-NY] elected in '08 after her comments on the plantation’”(www.mediamatters.org). Although facing this obvious problem, Clinton is showing her determination in trying to make change for the better in New York. Many may remember her previous attempts to change a faulty Medicare program. She illustrates her character by insisting on making change despite previous failures. This is why I believe Hillary Clinton maintains a majority of New York’s support to run for senate, and possibly in the future, president, and why she will bounce back from this fiasco.
